D4SD is a design challenge we host every year in collaboration with UCSDβs Design Lab. This year our main focus is on finding the best design solutions for housing insecurity and homelessness.
Project Overview
At D4SD , I am currently helping with the behind-the-scenes preparation for our upcoming design challenge, set to take place in November at the World Design Policy Conference.
π Working closely with cross-functional teams (designers, developers, and product managers) to ensure that our research findings inform the design and development of solutions targeting homelessness. Additionally, I conduct research to provide foundational information for the main website
π Collecting and analyzing quantitative data on housing availability, rent prices, vacancy rates, and population growth, along with qualitative data from interviews with affected individuals, community leaders, and organizations
π Designing user-centered solutions by synthesizing research insights to address root causes of housing insecurity, such as job accessibility, mental health support, and family stability
π Contributing to the UX design by assisting in the layout and development of the D4SD website, enhancing the user experience and incorporating research-driven insights
